At A Glance

St. Benedict Classical Academy is a co-ed independent Catholic school that offers a classical education for students in Early Learning (age 3) through Grade 8. At SBCA, we strive to cultivate intellectual and moral virtue in the pursuit of academic excellence in a joyful and faithful Catholic environment. At SBCA, students enjoy the merits of a close-knit community, with low student-faculty ratios across all grades.

History

  • Founded in 2013 by families seeking an authentically Catholic education for their children.
  • Received Catholic school status from the Archdiocese of Boston in 2015.
  • Opened a Montessori-inspired Early Learning Program in 2018.

Campus

  • Main building (K-8) is situated on thirteen acres of land on Union Street.
  • Early Learning building is located in the historic Harriet Beecher Stowe House on Pleasant Street, a mile up the road from the main building.

School Hours

  • The school year begins after Labor Day and ends the first week of June.
  • Our school day is 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Before/After-School Care

  • We offer optional before-school care for students starting at 7:15 AM, and after-school care until 5:00 PM.
    • 2025/26 Fees for Before-school Care: $40 per week per family
    • 2025/26 Fees for Part-time After-school Care (until 4:00 PM): $35 per day per student and $15 per additional sibling
    • 2025/26 Fees for Full-time After-school Care (until 5:00 PM): $45 per day per student and $15 per additional sibling

After-School Enrichment

  • Sports enrichment opportunities, such as Cross Country, Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football
  • Co-curricular opportunities, such as Drama Club, Speech & Debate Club, Chess Club, wind instrument and piano lessons, American Heritage Girls, Troops of St. George, Archery, Lego
  • Over 53% of students participate in after-school enrichment activities throughout the year

    • Early Learning Program Tuition:
      • 5 Full Days: $15,700

  • In 2025/26, 40% of families received need-based tuition assistance.
  • In 2025/26, over $1.3M was awarded to families, with an average award amount of $7,000 per student.

Families

  • 173 families (365 students) come from 40 towns across two states. Some commute for over an hour, such as from North Oxford and Princeton, and many families live locally in the MetroWest area.
